What does an EPC energy assessment involve?

Your energy assessor will carry out a full inspection to determine the energy efficiency of your property and how it can be improved. Some things your assessor may look at include:

  • Windows, doors, roofs, walls and insulation
  • Boilers, fireplaces and heating systems
  • Renewable energy devices
  • Exterior of the property
  • Age and measurements of the property

Your assessor will then issue an Energy Performance Certificate, grading your property's energy efficiency from 'A' to 'G'. If your rating is below 'E', you must follow recommendations to improve the property's energy efficiency before letting it out.
